Year 6 to 7 Transition
We are really excited for you to join our school community in September.
At Lancaster High, you will be able to have lessons in a wide range of subjects in specialist rooms, like science in our suite of labs or design technology using the workshop. Outside of lessons, we have a wide variety of clubs which you can join including football, netball, dance and a wide range of music clubs. We have also just opened our new Learning Resource Centre where pupils can read, play board games or complete homework using the computers.
How to help your child with the transition to secondary school.
Starting secondary school is a key milestone in your educational career, where you will develop new skills and knowledge to prepare you for your future. However, it is normal to feel a mix of emotions about this change and pupils might feel a little nervous or worried. We will help pupils with this through our transition process including visiting them at their current school and inviting you all into school on our transition events.
Parents and carers are also a vital part of preparing pupils for starting secondary school and below you can find links to resources you might find helpful.
